Nature's Sculpture 2015

This year brought new opportunities to explore the wilderness areas within New York's Adirondack Park and images to add to my Nature's Sculpture collection.

It is amazing what wind, weather and time can create from a tree or roots left exposed to those forces over the years. These is something timeless about these objects, at least from our relatively short time-perspective. What we see today may have started the process of decay and change many decades before. On a trail in the Adirondack High Peaks region I photographed a view of Wallface Mountain from along Indian Pass Brook, nearly 40 years later I photographed the same scene and when comparing the images saw the same tree stump in the foreground of both pictures.

I hope you will take time to view and enjoy these images, keeping in mind it is not man, but nature who is the sculptor of these works of art.
